How we work

Initial assessment
We visit to see the current state of the garden and understand what you need. For regular contracts we agree a schedule. For clearances we scope the work and agree on waste disposal.

Scheduled or one-off work
We work systematically through the garden. Lawns, edges, hedges, borders. We bring our own tools and deal with the waste.

Waste removal
Green waste and debris is removed from site. On larger clearances we can arrange a skip or haul multiple loads. We leave the garden clean and tidy after every visit.
How visits and clearances are priced
Regular visits usually run from March to October, through the growing season, with extra visits in autumn for leaves. Some customers keep us through the winter for cutting back and tidying. Either can work.
One-off clearances are priced on the size of the garden, how overgrown it is and how much waste there is. A very overgrown garden may need a skip, which we can arrange. Bagged removal is included in most clearances.
Clearing a garden that has got away
Some gardens simply get away from their owners: a rental that has stood empty, a garden that came with a house, or a plot that got ahead of everyone over a wet summer. A clearance puts it back to a starting point.
We cut back the overgrowth, clear the beds and borders, deal with brambles and self-set saplings before they become a tree surgery job, and take the lot away. What is underneath is often better than people expect: a lawn that will come back with feeding, a path nobody had seen in years, shrubs worth keeping once they are cut back properly. Once it is clear we will tell you what is worth saving.
Regular visits through the year
We keep a limited number of maintenance rounds alongside our building work, so it is worth asking early and we will tell you what we can fit in.
Where we do take one on, the work follows the season: cutting and edging through the growing months, keeping beds clear and shrubs in shape, cutting back and dividing in autumn, and using the quiet months for pruning and tidying that is hard to fit in when everything is growing.

Do you take on regular maintenance as well as one-off clearances?
Both. We keep a limited number of regular rounds alongside our building work, so ask early. One-off clearances we can usually fit in.
What does a clearance usually involve?
Cutting back overgrowth, clearing beds and borders, dealing with brambles and self-set trees, and taking it all away. Once it is clear we tell you what is worth keeping.
Do you take the waste away?
Yes. Removing the waste is part of every job we do, not an extra on the bill.
Can you look after a garden you did not build?
Yes, and we often do. We spend the first visit working out what is there and how it has been cared for before changing anything.
Do you work through the winter?
Yes. Winter is a good time for structural pruning, cutting back and the jobs that are hard to fit in when everything is growing.
