Tree work needs to be planned properly and carried out safely, so we assess every tree before quoting and discuss what the right course of action is before any work starts. Our approach is to do what is right for the tree as well as what meets your needs. A well-managed tree is an asset. We will always tell you honestly whether reduction, thinning or removal is the appropriate solution rather than defaulting to the most expensive option. All tree work is planned with access, neighbouring property and disposal in mind. We chip brash on site and remove everything before we leave.

How we work

Tree assessment
We visit and assess the tree, looking at size, species, health and what work is appropriate. We discuss what you want to achieve and give you honest advice about what is possible.

Work planning
We check whether the tree is subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or sits in a Conservation Area. We will advise you to confirm this with your local authority before we proceed if there is any doubt. We plan the sequence of work, access and disposal.

Safe execution
Work is carried out with appropriate equipment. Ground staff clear brash as the climber works. We take care around neighbouring property and gardens.

Chip removal and tidy
Chippings are removed or, where the customer prefers, left as mulch. The site is cleared and left tidy.
Materials and Options
Tree Preservation Orders protect individual trees and woodlands where the local authority considers them to have amenity value. Working on or removing a TPO tree without consent is a criminal offence. If your tree might be protected, check with the local planning authority before booking any work. Trees in Conservation Areas also need prior notification for significant work. We can advise you on the process but the responsibility sits with the property owner. Timing matters for some pruning work. Many fruit trees are best pruned in late winter while they are dormant. Structural pruning of amenity trees can usually be done any time of year, but we try to avoid disturbing active bird nesting between March and August where possible.
